regular activities

Children's Ministry is a vibrant and growing part of life at Calvary! We strive to teach children what it means to love God and to live in the way of Jesus.

Sunday School

All children from infants to sixth grade are invited to join us each Sunday morning for a time of bible study and fellowship beginning at 9:30am. This is a special time each week that is focused on learning more about God's great love for us.

Wednesday Night Activities

Each Wednesday night we offer children's activities for infants to sixth graders. Most weeks for children age 4 to the 6th grade we offer choir. However, once a month we have a missions night in place of choir.

  • Wednesday Night Meal 5:00-6:00
  • Choir/Missions Night 5:45-6:45

Children's Worship

Once a month we invite children from Kindergarten to sixth grade to join us for children's worship. We worship through singing and dancing, learning Scripture, giving offering, hearing a mini-sermon, and applying the Bible to our lives. The goal is that this service would help children to learn about and engage in worship in an atmosphere that is geared specifically toward them so that they can better understand and participate in Calvary's corporate worship service each week.

Special activities

Children's Bible Club

Each summer the entire Calvary congregation comes together to host a bible club for children in kindergarten to sixth grade. We invite children from our own congregation and the neighborhood to come and participate in worship, bible stories, crafts, recreation, and fellowship.

Passport Kids Camp

Each summer children who have completed third through sixth grades are invited to join us for a special week of Passport camp. This is a wonderful time of learning, fun, and fellowship and kids always love their camp experience!

Music Camp

Each summer we host a music camp for children who have completed first through sixth grades. In one week, the children put together a musical and drama. It's a great way for us to learn that we can worship God with all of the talents and abilities God has given us. At the end of the week the children always have a great time sharing all that they have learned with their Calvary family.

Advent

Advent is a special time at Calvary! Each November, families and friends participate in an advent wreath-making activity. Each week of advent, the families light another candle in the wreath as they pray and read scripture together. This is a well-loved Calvary tradition and a great way that children learn about the importance of Jesus' birth.

Christmas Craft Party

Each December, Calvary has a children's Christmas party. The children enjoy making several fun crafts to give as Christmas presents to family and friends. We have snacks, play games, sing carols, and listen as the Christmas story is read.
